Fairfax Place Designs is a Canadian business founded, owned and operated by Rachel. We specialize in handcrafted, personalized home décor, gifts and laser engraved products, with each piece created to order from our workshop in Burlington, Ontario.

 

Custom & Personalized Orders

Because the majority of our products are custom made, customers are responsible for providing accurate personalization details at the time of ordering.

Once production has begun, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

We reserve the right to decline any request that falls outside our capabilities or does not align with our products and services.

Design Proofs

For many personalized orders, a digital proof will be provided before production begins.

Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing and approving all design proofs, including:

Layout

Sizing

Personalization

Badge numbers

Dates

Overall design

Approval of a proof confirms that all details are correct.

​

Fairfax Place Designs is not responsible for errors that appear on an approved proof.

​

Failure to approve a proof in a timely manner may delay production and shipping.

​

Handmade Products

Every item we create is handcrafted.

Because many of our products are made from natural materials, variations in wood grain, knots, colour, texture and engraving appearance are normal and make each piece unique.

These natural characteristics are not considered defects.

Colours displayed on your screen may also vary slightly from the finished product.

​

Processing Times

Processing times vary depending on the product, season and current workload.

Estimated production times are provided as a guideline only and do not include shipping time.

Rush orders may be accommodated when possible but cannot be guaranteed.

Shipping

We proudly ship throughout Canada and internationally.

Once your order has been transferred to the shipping carrier, delivery times are outside our control.

Incorrect shipping information supplied by the customer

Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipping address is accurate.

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Due to the personalized nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges for custom-made items.

If your order arrives damaged or contains an error caused by Fairfax Place Designs, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photographs of the issue.

We will review each situation and work with you toward a fair resolution.

​

Customer-Supplied Artwork & Photos

By submitting photographs, logos, artwork or other design materials, you confirm that you own the rights to use them or have obtained permission from the copyright owner.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Pet photographs

Family photographs

Business logos

Department logos

Artwork

Custom graphics

Fairfax Place Designs is not responsible for copyright infringement resulting from customer-supplied materials.

We reserve the right to refuse any order that may infringe upon intellectual property rights.

First Responder Gifts

Many of our first responder products are custom-designed commemorative gifts inspired by individual departments, services and organizations.

​

Unless specifically stated otherwise, Fairfax Place Designs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially associated with any fire department, police service, EMS agency, municipality, military organization or other public service organization.

Department names, insignia and identifying information remain the property of their respective organizations.

​

Trademark Disclaimer

Some products may be engraved on genuine branded items supplied by Fairfax Place Designs.

Personal information such as addresses, phone numbers and other private information will never be displayed.

If your order contains sensitive information or you prefer that it not be shared, please let us know when placing your order.

Limitation of Liability

Fairfax Place Designs' liability is limited to the purchase price of the product purchased.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the purchase or use of our products.

Privacy

Customer information is collected solely for the purpose of processing orders, communicating with customers and fulfilling purchases.

We do not sell or share personal information except where necessary to complete your order or where required by law.

Changes to These Terms

Fairfax Place Designs reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.

The version published on our website at the time an order is placed will apply to that purchase.

Every custom design created by Fairfax Place Designs is intended as a personalized artistic interpretation. While we strive for accuracy, engraved portraits, line art and custom illustrations are created in our own artistic style and should not be considered exact photographic reproductions.

Right to Refuse Orders

 

Fairfax Place Designs reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order that contains offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, illegal or otherwise inappropriate content, or any request that falls outside our capabilities.
